Functional Exhibition of the Totalizing Obscurant Formalizer for the Implementation of Generating Human Intelligence Machine (2018) (FETM) Enacts a series of chess matches on an automated chess board against an updated version of IBM’s super computer Deep Blue which is noted as being the first computer to beat a world champion, in this case Garry Kasparov in his 1997 rematch with Deep Blue. The victory was possible due to a severe glitch in the second round which led Kasparov to believe that true generative thought was achieved. This updated AGI, the T.O.F.I.G.H.I. Machine utilizes a mechanical chessboard to play a match with a combination of brute force strategy and sheer mechanized idiocy to beat any player. The TM is in reality an updated version of Wolfgang von Kempelen Mechanical Turk (1770), in which shock and awe aesthetic kitsch from a seemingly autonomous creation is using average human abilities for a weaponized uncanny valley effect. Utilizing the implied intelligence of slick market ready minimalism and championing error/real time manipulation of contingency as the hallmark and zone of creative thought/Intelligence ending the monopoly in a patented form of creative exertion. A learning tool in reassessing of presentation, intelligence, and selective valorization.
